Frost action considerations in highway pavement design
Basic factors which are believed to pertain to frost damage in highway and airport pavements, with particular emphasis on mechanism by which ice lenses are formed; methods of controlling and preventing frost action; criteria establishing frost-susceptibility of material; some subsurface drainage facilities are presented and evaluated from frost-action viewpoint.
