Rapid fettling of open hearth tilting furnace bottoms
Use of mixture of finely ground magnesite powder and millscale for hot repairs of furnace bottoms enabled life of burnt-in bottoms to be prolonged; layer is formed throughout entire depth even during process of rapid heating-up with high heat input (in 1.5 hr) and during exploitation, this layer wears down uniformly during period between repairs. (see also English translation in Stal in English n 8 Aug 1963 p 612-14)
