Calculation of thermotechnical period for open hearth process
Tests of 260- and 370-ton open hearth furnaces made it possible to determine correlation between heat absorption of metal and parameters of thermal process (heat input, percentage of excess air, pressure in working space and oxygen content of blast); this led to method for determination of parameters, assuring maximum reduction of thermotechnical period of melting.
