Effect of rare earth elements on properties of heat resisting nickel base alloys
Investigation of deoxidizing and desulfurizing role of rare earth elements and effect of their residual contents on structure and properties of EI437 alloy (0.03-0.05 C, 20-21 Cr, 2.5-2.8 Ti, 0.8-1.0 Al, balance nickel) after deformation; addition of cerium, lanthanum and neodymium substantially increases rupture strength and ductility of metal at high temperatures; maximum effect is obtained by adding neodymium. (See also Stal n 9 Sept 1963 p 835-8)
