Damage due to freezing of fresh concrete
When fresh concrete is exposed to sufficiently low temperature, free water in concrete is cooled below its freezing point and transforms into ice; this is followed by expansion of about 9%; tests at Concrete Research Laboratory of Norwegian Inst of Technology to study to what extent quality of concrete is influenced by such freezing.
