Building foundations in waterlogged soil
System of foundation has been invented which is both reliable and economic, also quickly constructed, for which so-called self-sinking iron and cement caissons are utilized; inventors Kofler, Toschi and Co., of Padua, have made numerous applications with success; foundation is constructed above ground and then sunk in pit. (see also brief translated abstract in Water and Water Eng., vol. 33, no. 385, Jan. 20, 1931, p. 46)
