Shaft sinking at Mcintyre mine
No. 11 is large shaft of five compartments which will be main shaft in deep level operations at McIntyre; sinking was started (at 62 ft.) in Feb. 1925 and completed in Mar. 1927; it is 4150 ft. deep; excavation is 17 ft. by 24 ft.; accompanying diagrams show timbering and uses of several compartments; hoist used for sinking was specially constructed Nordberg, made in sections small enough to permit its later use underground.
