Unusual inclosure for winter building construction
In constructing Belmont Hotel at Madison, Wis., in winter of 1927-28, all floors were concreted in canvas inclosures moved up as work progressed; canvas inclosure was heated by coke salamanders; after lower stories were concreted wooden housing was constructed to protect stone cutting and interior finishing operations.
