Approximate determination of secondary stresses caused in bridge cross girders by main truss chord elongations
Secondary stresses depend on location of cross member with respect to main truss, as well as on degree of fixing of cross members to chord members; known approximate calculation methods are extended to these factors and also to case of skew cross members; formulas for most usual arrangements are deduced and listed in tables.
