Experiments with monolithic arch in stoker-fired water-tube boiler
Construction and operation of monolithic ignition arch, which was installed to combat troubles from thermal spalling associated with more conventional firebrick arch; thermal gradients through arch were measured under varying conditions of operation and slow heating schedule evolved to minimize tendency to spalling; other factors influencing ignition arch deterioration are discussed.
