Two international civil airports under construction by US Army's Corps of engineers
Construction of jet airports at Tehran, Iran and Karachi, Pakistan, by modernizing existing runways; at Tehran airport pavements will be flexible, consisting of 1 1/2 in. surface course of dense graded hot plant mix asphaltic concrete over various thicknesses of base and subbase courses; at Karachi, pavements will be portland cement concrete, and taxiways and aprons will have flexible, non-load-bearing blast pavements.
