Drag forces in velocity gradient flow
Exploratory investigation was made of drag coefficient for circular cylinder as influenced by velocity gradient along its axis under simplified test conditions; three-dimensional aspects of flow mechanics were described qualitatively; experiments indicated that local drag coefficient varied along length of cylinder; relation between pier diameter, motor depth, and velocity gradient.
