Loss of moisture from fresh mortars to bricks
Brick panel tests had indicated weaker bond between mortar bed and brick above than between mortar and brick below; to explain this difference, loss of moisture from 3 mortars having different water retentivity values after timed intervals of contact with bricks having different rates of suction, was studied; effects of suction rate of brick, water retentivity of mortar, and of moisture loss on plasticity of mortar are reported.
