Some shear tests on reinforced concrete beams without shear reinforcement
Tests, using rectangular beams, were conducted to determine effect of manner and position of loading, amount and type of reinforcement, and strength of concrete on shear strength; conclusions concerning relation between load, major inclined crack, diagonal crack load, strength of concrete, longitudinal reinforcement, and bond characteristics of bars; method developed for estimating diagonal cracking load; design recommendations.
