L'effet fusee et l'eroxion mecanique de cavitation
"Rocket effect" and mechanical erosion caused by cavitation; theoretical and experimental study of gas or steam bubble (called Pebullon) simultaneously subjected to translatory and radial motion evidences very high accelerations due to existence of particularly active liquid microjets which form regions of high density of kinetic energy in liquid; this explains mechanical erosion due to high velocity impact of bubble upon obstacle; mechanism of erosion is analyzed; means of reducing "rocket effect" in hydraulic machines are discussed.
