Elastoplastic deformations of underground covers subject to dynamic loading; roof of underground structure situated under thick soil layer is considered as ideal elastoplastic beam one side of which is in contact with soil layer; beam's inertia is not accounted for; it is assumed that constant pressure is instantaneously applied to soil surface, and instantaneously removed after certain time; resulting elastic waves propagating in soil cause motion of beam; its deflection as function of time is investigated for case of one plastic hinge being formed in midsection of beam.
