Simplified calculation of orthotropic bridge deck with hollow ribs; aim of study is derivation of closed-form expressions for bending moments of longitudinal ribs; it is shown that, by introducing ideal trigonometric load function, simple closed formulas can be derived without use of Fourier series; problem of plate on rigid transverse beams is numerically solved; method of ideal trigonometric function also can simplify solutions of other problems in elastostatics.
