Fundamental studies on flexural and shearing properties of concrete beams with artificial lightweight aggregate
Results of experimental studies on statical flexure and shear characteristics of light weight reinforced or prestressed concrete beams showed among other things that ultimate bending moment is almost same in both light weight and normal weight concrete beams having same ratio of reinforcement and concrete strength; appreciable differences between light weight and normal weight concrete beams were not observed as to width and frequency of cracks.
