Stress analysis of cracked reinforced and prestressed concrete thin-walled beams and shells
Method for stress analysis of concrete beams under combined effect of axial force bending moments and 'bimoments'; distribution of strains and stresses in uncracked thin-walled beam follows closely theory developed by V.Z.Vlasov; theory is extended to problem of stress distribution in cracked section of reinforced concrete beam; analysis is limited to beams of 'open cross-section' working in elastic range of internal stresses; results of model tests at Southampton have substantiated validity of theory.
