Inelastic behaviour of simply supported composite beams of steel and concrete
Numerical analysis given takes account of inelasticity of steel, concrete and shear connection; analysis is used to explore effects of cross-sectional properties, span, connector distribution, strength and stiffness, type of loading and strain hardening on beam-slab interaction and ultimate load behavior; solutions are compared with experimental results; solutions provided background for preparation of Code of Practice for Composite Construction 117 pt 1; Code recommendations are discussed from aspect of analysis presented.
