Five floors hung from long plate girders
Unusual design and novel erection methods were used in construction of Bankers Trust Building in Des Moines, Iowa; second to fifth floors of 125×67 ft structure were suspended from pair of side by side steel plate girders spanning 84 ft between steel towers; suspended construction provides floor areas unobstructed by columns; each tower is carried on 32 H-piles, driven 50 ft to shale.
