Effect of settlement of concrete on results of pull-out bond tests
Test data cover influence of various factors caused by differences in character of concrete, reinforcing bars and mold, orientation of bars and method of placing concrete; adverse effects of settlement on bond resistance can be reduced by using small amount of aluminum powder or, by reducing slump of concrete to 2 or 3 in.; most practical method for minimizing effect of settlement, is improving mechanical gripping action of deformed bars.
