Effect of carbonic acid on hardened cement: results of tests carried out on porous cement, showed that both calcium hydroxide and calcium hydrosilicates are decomposed and carbonated by effect of atmospheric carbonic acid; this increases with increasing porosity of cement test-piece and with increasing exposure to air.
