Wave statistics from hurricane dora at Panama City, Florida
Waves were measured by inductive-resistance type wave staffs located approximately 150 yd, 1.7 and 11 nautical mi offshore in water depths of about 8, 60 and 110 ft, respectively; National Engineering Science Co, McLean, Va has developed series of computer programs to analyze wave data; results of probability densities and spectral analyses of simultaneous station data obtained during Hurricane Dora are presented; comparison of directly measured statistics and spectral statistics are made.
