Stream function wave theory -- Validity and application
Problems of selecting available theories and methods for calculating wave profiles, wave forces, and moments on piling; criteria for assessing validity of various wave theories are presented; these criteria are then applied to test validity of several theories for two wave conditions and, it is found that for these conditions, stream function numerical wave theory is most valid of those tested; stream function theory is developed into graphs of dimensionless crest displacement, and total maximum wave forces and moments on vertical piling.
