Tests to study tightening of cracked water tanks made of reinforced concrete by prestress
Six nozzle-tanks of reinforced concrete, two maters in diam, cracked by inner water pressure in course of previous tests, were subjected to increasing prestresses by means of stretched hoops and filled with water under pressure; rate of flow subsisting for various degrees of prestress was measured.
