Research program carried out by American Concrete Pressure Pipe Assn; program's objectives were to explain why concrete and cement-mortar protect steel from corrosion, what exposure conditions lessen this protective capacity, and to discover ways to preserve protective effect; study made with open cup cell is described; cement-mortar-coated anodes and cathodes were used in tests.
