Ventilation system installed for platform areas of Birmingham, England, New Street Station, to remove diesel exhaust fumes and to prevent them from infiltrating concourse above and public areas; air supply is provided from series of slot openings, with direction louvres, in fascia above platform edge; extract units over track have vertical deflector plates fitted between top of duct and concrete deck to direct flow of air and fumes into extract openings situated on top surface of duct.
