Tunnel under Sound of Oresund; problems associated with planning and design of 3-mi long tunnel across Sound between Denmark and Sweden, from Elsinore on Danish side to Helsingborg in Sweden are discussed; most economical solution is double-track railroad tunnel for electric train transport of passengers, cars and goods; tunnel will need no artificial ventilation, and with 10 motorcar trains and two other trains per hour it will have greater capacity even for motor vehicles than road tunnel.
