Research on structural damping of steel trussed and framed multi-storey buildings
Paper describes general objectives of investigation on dynamic response of steel multistory buildings during different stages of construction; information regarding test sequence, and test arrangements are given; preliminary results on 15-story bare moment-resistant steel frame with concrete floor slabs indicated low percentage of critical damping; preliminary results show excellent correlation between experimentally obtained frequencies and analytically derived values.
