Plastic method for unbraced frame design
Practical design method which considers problems of interaction between columns and girders, sway deflections, and secondary overturning effects due to column thrusts acting in displaced positions resulting from sway deflections; method is applicable to design of unbraced multistory frames which are subjected to combined gravity and lateral loads and to those stories of multistory frames where design will be controlled by combined loading; through application of analysis procedure described, complete lateral load sway deflection behavior of each story can be determined.
