Intergranular corrosion of ferritic-austenitic steels OKh21N5 and OKh21N6M2 -- 1
Conditions of development of susceptibility to intergranular corrosion; susceptibility to intergranular corrosion (IGC) may appear immediately after quenching as well as after reheating, first on ferrite-austenite boundaries, then between ferrite grains and following between austenite grains; titanium increases amount of ferrite and may facilitate susceptibility to IGC; addition of 2% Mo to ferritic-austenitic steels inhibits susceptibility to IGC during holding in critical temperature range; of steels investigated, most resistant to IGC were titanium-free grades with 0.04 to 0.09% carbon, quenched from 950 C.
