Vehicle sharing for the journey to work by office employees
Abstract This paper outlines some spatial variations in the incidence of vehicle sharing for the journey to work amongst office workers at a number of locations in Britain. The contribution of occupation status and related factors to the variability in vehicle sharing is considered with reference to four case study offices and in relation to the use of private hire buses at one establishment. It is concluded that the original, local-specific, empirical evidence presented in the paper confirms the apparent lack of a universal pattern in vehicle sharing.
