Indoor air quality (IAQ), pollutants, their sources and concentration levels
AbstractThe paper presents a comprehensive review of problems related to indoor air quality (IAQ), based on literature data. Main sources of indoor air pollution have been presented. Health effects of the most important pollutants have been discussed. A particular attention has been paid to volatile organic compounds. Measures taken to improve the IAQ have been briefly treated, including methods of elimination of indoor air pollution. Also presented are several aspects of indoor air analysis. On this background selected problems related to IAQ and its improvement in Poland have been shown using Gdansk as an example.
