Energy, water and environment catastrophic events in resident buildings
Highlights The resilience is the immanent parameter for the assessment of catastrophe event. Resilience index is parameter for the evaluation of the safety of residential building. Resilience index is used for the monitoring and verification of catastrophe event.
Abstract Catastrophic events by definition are sudden, natural or man-made situations where the change and destruction may occur without prior knowledge or preparation. Resident buildings are exposed to the different hazard events which are result of geological, and climate changes, and exposure to natural chemical, radioactive, biological environment, and manmade system mal functions leading to the potential adverse effects. The paper is devoted to the evaluation of selected resident buildings with special emphasize to the determination of resilience index comprising economic, environmental, and social indicators sudden changes. With the agglomeration of resilience indexes for the resident building under consideration the rating among the potential hazard event is determined. In the demonstration of resilience index for the resident building following sudden changes of indicators are taken into a consideration: the investment indicator, the electric energy indicator, the water indicator, the environment indicator and the inhabitants indicator. With the agglomeration of all resilience indexes for the sudden changes of the selected indicators the total resilience index for the system under consideration is determined. With comparison of the total resilience of resident building with the critical value of the resilience index the potential hazard event can be verified.
