Optimization of tall structures for wind loading
AbstractFor high rise and slender buildings, a structural system with members sized for strength alone is usually unacceptably flexible. Determining the most effective places to add material for deflection control can be critical in providing an economical design. This paper describes a series of computer programs which “optimize” and completely design truss structures such as braced cores.
