Innovative technologies for Latin American megacities
State and community involvement
AbstractThis paper explores the relationships between innovative technologies and habitat in Latin American megacities. A survey of the present situation shows a virtually total divorce between the technology used in urban infrastructures and services, and the needs of the inhabitants. Proposals are made in order to generate an explicit urban technological policy with a view to optimizing the use of innovative technologies, and producing a more lively interaction between the state and different community sectors.
