AbstractThe education of landscape architecture at the Copenhagen Art Academy is based on the philosophy that the methodology of design is essentially the same for all design professions. Students training for different design disciplines therefore work together during a large part of their studies. Specialization comes in the last phase. All graduates receive the same diploma: that of ‘architect’. The school does not publish a detailed course outline. The education revolves primarily around design projects in which teachers and students train jointly. Students obtain required information when they feel they need it and ask for it. As a result their level of knowledge varies markedly, but they all share a high degree of design capability.
