A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Abstract This paper is concerned primarily with the accuracy of areas computed from the overlay of two networks of polygons. The correlations between the given points together with the correlations between computed intersection points and the given points are taken into account. Although the overlay of two polygon networks is a standard task in geographic information systems, the software on the market today yields no qualified information on the accuracy of the computed areas.
