Predicted aerodynamic performance of a horizontal-axis wind turbine equipped with vortex generators
AbstractA simple flow model for a wind turbine with vortex generators on the blades is developed and applied to an existing wind turbine geometry. The performance of the proposed flow model is evaluated by contrasting the results of the numerical work with available experimental data. The possibility of improving wind turbine efficiency by incorporating vortex generators on rotor blades is demonstrated.
