AbstractThe paper is a contribution to the complex problem arising in the design of members with varying sections subject to nonuniform moment. Restraint of the upper flange at intervals is assumed. Details of a parametric study illustrate the effect of different structural parameters. A practical design proposal based on the results of the parametric study is also given. The proposal is supported by other solutions and experimental evidence.
