Effect of variation in size of containers on yield of Pleurotus sajor-caju
AbstractCultivation of the oyster mushroom Pleurotus sajor-caju (Fr.) Singer has been carried out in cylindrical wire-mesh structures to determine the effect of structural variation on its yield. The use of cylindrical structures of different sizes revealed that an area per unit volume of 0·18 cm2/cm3 was optimum for yield of the mushroom, which was found to be 1·32 kg/kg dry paddy straw.
