Sonochemical preparation of palygorskite nanoparticles
Abstract Palygorskite nanoparticles were prepared by sonochemical reaction. The products were characterized by X-ray fluorescence analysis (XRF), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), thermal gravimetry analysis (TGA), differential thermal analysis (DTA) and infrared spectroscopy. The morphology and size of the nanorods were observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
Research Highlights ► Palygorskite nanoparticles were prepared by sonochemical reaction. ► The described method can potentially be used on at industrial scale. ► Because it does not need special conditions, such as high temperature, special surfactants, long times or high temperature and pressure controlling.
