Chloride concentration in the pore solution of Portland cement paste and Portland cement concrete
Abstract The chloride concentration of pore solution extracted from cylinders of cement paste with known admixed sodium chloride contents has been measured. The maximum concentration of free chloride (~15%) is reached at approximately 7.5% admixed chlorides. These data are applicable to corrosion testing of rebar in synthetic concrete pore solution, but cautions are provided to their limitations.
