Organo-chlorine additives for lubricants
Abstract 1. Heat and wear resistant additives, which do not cause metal corrosion and containing up to 50% chlorine, were prepared fro, anhydrides of chlorendic and endomethylene hexachlorohydronaphthalene dicarboxylic acids. 2. The heat resistance of chlorendic acid imides varies according to the structure of the alkyl radical of the initial amine: the longer the alkyl chain, the higher the heat resistance of imide. 3. The highest efficiency of imides as anti-wear oil additives is observed at temperatures above 250°.
