AbstractSlepian model processes appear in several questions concerning structural dynamics under random loads: mainly in problems of reliability, identification (the random decrement method), the modelling of seawave motion non linear dynamics with plastification, and also for random fields. Ocean and land surfaces, geological structures, seismic patterns, surface of a ground metal plate, etc.We present here a derivation of this model using new techniques of stochastic calculus which allow extensions to non-stationary Gaussian processes or fields.
