Performance evaluation of Xinjiang Tianzhize 90A road petroleum asphalt and mixture
Highlights A kind of binder of Xinjiang Tianzhize 90A road petroleum asphalt was introduced. Aging resistance of XJTZZ-90A is better than that of Karamay 90# asphalt. Pavement and mechanical properties of XJTZZ-90A mixture was satisfactory.
Abstract The objective of this paper is to introduce a new kind of asphalt binder of Xinjiang Tianzhize 90A road petroleum asphalt, and the basic performance of it and the pavement performance and mechanical property of its mixture were investigated by a series of laboratory tests and compared with Karamay 90# asphalt. Results show that the Xinjiang Tianzhize 90A road petroleum asphalt and mixture have good basic and pavement performance, such as good high temperature performance and waterproof performance. Besides, the Xinjiang Tianzhize 90A road petroleum asphalt mixture has good mechanical properties. However, the low temperature performance of Xinjiang Tianzhize 90A road petroleum asphalt mixture is not outstanding. The Karamay 90# asphalt mixture has better performance at low temperature and high load frequency. The study of this paper laid a foundation for the investigation and field engineer application of Xinjiang Tianzhize 90A road petroleum asphalt.
