Measured energy savings in Swedish homes
Abstract This paper presents results from an investigation of the effects of different structural and mechanical energy conservation measures in Swedish houses. For this investigation, we selected at random a number of houses whose owners or managers had received government grants for modifications to conserve energy. Actual and theoretical savings in the houses are compared for various structural modifications. Reasons for great variation in actual savings between houses to which the same modifications were made are also discussed. We include a description of the calculations used to determine savings.
