Tritiated water metabolism in rats — A radiological protection study
Abstract The metabolism of tritiated water was studied in the rat during 580 days. The results on urinary and fecal excretion, total activity retention in 25 tissues or organs, cumulated activities from the 4th to the 582nd day are presented and discussed. They are in agreement with other similar studies if compared over the same length of experimentation. The activity retained by the spinal cord is twice that retained in the brain, and is considered as the organ whose long half-lived component is the most active.
