Modeling of multisized particle laden turbulent low swirling free jets
AbstractThis paper is focussed on the calculation of turbulent swirling free jets. Turbulence modeling is adressed by comparing the standard k-ε eddy viscosity model with the multiple time scale turbulence model, using two partitions of the turbulent kinetic energy spectrum. The relative performance of the models is assessed for gas free jets with swirl intensity up to 0.3. Particle laden jets are considered using a stochastic Lagrangean model. The influence of the dispersed multisized particles on the jet behaviour is discussed.
